They have so many quirks and so much potential, they're worth studying. I've been researching to build one with an RB34 stroker kit with NA pistons for a bit of low down grunt, giving a bit more flexibility. It would hammer but look stock.

A great point thanks BB Mate
Pretty sure that without light colour doesn’t exist though hopefully it’s dark enough under the bonnet

Thanks heaps again for kindly bringing this to my attention @Brissieboy Mate!
You’ve thankfully got my arse into gear searching for a best heat insulation stick on stuff for the shed junk steel box contraption.
Only needing a small square piece for the turbo front radiant face I’m hoping will assist when the ute returns from suspension work and can only shop collect find so far this SCA one tonight:

Has anybody used the SCA stuff before or could kindly recommend any other options that can be purchased around 300x300mm instead of an entire firewall sized roll ?

How about just a thin piece of polished stainless or similar. Pretty sure any mirror-like finish should prove effective as a shield based on my old school physics where we delved into the workings of the vacuum thermos flask which uses such surfaces. Of course the vacuum gap would help as well but that may be just a tad more difficult to achieve, but a small air gap might help as well if it is mostly radiated heat causing the problem.
What you need to achieve is minimum absorption on the outside and minimum radiation from the inside. And even better if you can get a little cooling air flow on the inside.

I put a piece of bent ally chequer plate on the outside of my 2nd battery holder. Only had 1 90 degree bent bit, so I left about a 10mm gap between the end of the holder and plate up where the turbo is. Don't know if makes any diff, but it's something.
Black ally, or ally coated black, is used to suck heat out of stuff when attached to the stuff and silver to repel the heat.

Awesome ideas thankyou Gentlemen, Appreciated
Think I get exactly what you mean and reckon I’ll have something floating around the shed to bolt on with a 10mm gap in front

bigger the gap the better, I only had about that much to play with.
