Jesus! Peru has had over 800,000 case and more that 30k of deaths and yet Victoria is locked down tighter than an alterboy’s trousers with no where near these numbers. Something ain’t right. Oh wait! Yeah it’s our premier....

Well, maybe we're not seeing anywhere near those numbers because we are gridlocked?

honestly im sick of hearing how bad dan andrews is. i could get it if everyone was behaving and doing the right thing but there are still people who are out there doing the wrong thing. if people just pulled their bloody head in we might end up like the other states. sure i dont agree with all the policies and stuff he has in place, but he has a plan, and if we dont see it through we may end up like the UK or EU or US. there is a bloody selfish me generation of people young or old and those are the main problem here, not out leadership...
edit- i dont necessarily agree with dan andrews either, he just has all the cards in his pocket and we have to live with that fact until someone else is democratically voted in.

My opportunity with BHP turned into a horse race with the lowest cost resource winning - surprising strategy from 'The Big Australian', but their call. Subsequent to this the mine site rang today to confirm they need me back on site asap - after sitting around for 7 months in Melb., where is no demand for my skills. The issue for me is that due to rigid isolation protocols in QLD, political or not, I have to isolate in a Govt nominated hotel for 2 weeks, then to site for a two week roster and then 1 week off - but cannot leave QLD - so may miss Xmas all together, first Xmas with the new grandchild. My situation is pretty tame compared to some but I might not be back for 6 months - who knows when the borders will re-open. Covid restrictions have to be rigid because of the few 'free minded individuals' believe they don't need to take the risk seriously. Being separated from my family for an extended period is not my choice, but these are the rules, so I follow them,. yet some can't even wear a damn face mask for a couple of months , when in public space without feeling their liberty is being impacted - harden up.

DAndrews has never run this state right and never will. He’s been on a power trip since day one. For more than just what’s going on now.

No one has a manual to follow for this. When was the last pandemic that hit Australia, AFAIK it was AIDS. But the victims of that pandemic could be identified, it was a few particular demographics. This pandemic affects everyone.
There is no guide to follow, there is no past experience to look back on. What is the most precious resource? Life is. What's the greatest service a Government can offer? Protection to the people it governs.
I don't understand how anyone can be said to be doing a rotten job, or doing the wrong thing, when it's never been done before and there is no precedent, no instruction to follow.
What the worst outcome any of us could suffer from this pandemic? You or someone you care about losses their life. If that doesn't happen then you're winning the battle, everything after that can be rebuilt, rebought, relearnt, re everything.
