Yep, being self employed, I lose a days pay. This year though I teed up some work and just went in as normal.
It's one of the dumbest public holidays around.

A "minor alteration" of my backyard, planned to take an hour & removal of small bit of concrete and brick edging.
Turned into a 12 hour backbreaking marathon , 5 trips to Bunnings , a rubble skip hire, broken pipe & now the whole yard is a destruction zone....

Bitumen Burner
The other day I squeezed my ute through the double gates into my back yard, ready to set up my annex/awning. A couple of scratches, but eventually got it in.
The wife got it out and picked up some stuff and left it parked out the front of our house.
I got home after a hard day's work and we were chatting away and eventually
I said: "Did you scratch it getting it out the back gate? "
She said: "The passenger door"
I got the torch and checked it out. Came back inside and went straight to bed.
I got a quote to fix her damage - $2500. She has written off the whole door. Not happy.
Winner of 'Best 4 x 4 ' at the 2017 Albany Agricultural Society Inc - Town n Country Ute Muster.
Ex Telstra - 2005, 4.2 TDi ute -with pod and more fruit than a grocery shop.

i reckon you must have the worst luck when it comes to purchasing parcels from anywhere other than where you are mate! i dont think i have heard someone have so much bad luck with online/over the phone parcels hey. feel for ya bud, so i guess the fitting will have to wait till your next back?
