On my old Fairmont, it was as easy as unscrewing the switch to reset it. Dunno about a GU though. Did you pump the brake all the way to the floor? It is always a good idea to place a block of wood behind the pedal so you don't pump it below normal range.

The float may be stuck at bottom in master cylinder
