FMIC Install and Suitable Bull Bar_08 GU IV CRD
Looking at doing a front mount (bar & plate) cooler(600x300x76mm) install for my GUIV CRD wagon. Looking at replacing the bull bar as not keen on modifying the Genuine Nissan bar mounting brkts that protrude 160mm above chassis rail as this would weaken mount and not be ADR compliant.
Looking at Raslarr @ Mount Evelyn Victoria _ Azza comp bar with 3" centre tube & 7" spotlight inserts, with headlight hoops . ADR compliant and air bag compatible.

Anyone have experience with Rasslar products (any good)?

Yeah I have raslarr rear bar and slider/scrub bars. I am happy with the barwork itself but the powder coat is nowhere near good enough and when I brought it up with them they were not interested in helping.
I found their service to be pretty well below par too.

Poor powder coat that would be disappointing (especially new) and them not wanting to be bothered with follow up. Will address this when I call them.
Have a Millweld rear bar, not sure if Mill is doing bull bars anymore due to compliance requirements. Might give him a call as well. Thanks

this is may not be feasible but i thought i'd just thro it out there . in the past i have read of people removing the centre apron strut to mount the ic behind the grill . i reckon this is doable . a new strut could be made to connect to the back of the bullbar or bend back under to the original bottom mounting bolt ,the powersteering cooler would have to be relocated also but that should be easy . just no sure of legality's. part of the apron support strut i think would have to be cut off , but if done carefully , could be made to be bolted back on if required.

A few kits starting to get out there. In my cases the vertical spt strut (genuine) also will have to go and a new brkt fixed in place. The steering cooler is generally shifted to new location, but for the series 4, the kit I am looking at, the steering cooler can retain same relative horiz/vert position but be moved in behind new vert spt brkt. Yet to see detailed instruction.

Mate, when did you purchase your Raslarr stuff and was the powder coat patchy/not thick enough or damaged(from impact)?

It would have been about 5 years ago I reckon. The powder coat did not stick properly and in a lot of places it just fell off on the drive home.

You got less room behind the bar than us GUIII owners? I had to move a thermo fan and the steering cooler but otherwise plenty of room there for a reasonable ic.
