Has anyone converted from HBMC to standard suspension?
I have 2014 Nissan patrol y62 with HBMC system. I am looking to further lift the vehicle by about 50mm.
Has anyone converted from HBMC to standard suspension? The whole idea is to remove the HBMC and put a set of Kings suspension system with Tc upper control arms and old man emu rear coils. If anyone can give me couple of pointers that we will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

The only good thing about an 80 series is..... the front end?? Wrong!!, the Engine?? Wrong!! the Full Time 4WD system?? Wrong!! Its the NissanPatrol.com.au stubby holder fitted over the transfer lever.

You will need to add sway bars to the list of parts too. I'd expect that this will become a reasonably regular change over in the not too distant future with the older vehicles HBMC "shocks" getting on a bit. I know that the rubbers on my mounts are perishing.
Let us know how you go.
There are also reports that the HBMC vehicles get a fair bit more flex than the non HBMC's.

Is there anything else I should be aware of. The car is going in on Saturday for the work. I was aware of the sway bars. Will the full HBMC system have to be removed? Will I have warning lights come on the dashboard

Did you end up doing this? If so what did you end up doing and how is it?

If i am reading this right you can remove that whole system and go back to normal shocks and springs? is this correct?

yes I did but I didnt do it myself I had to pay my local mech guy but it was a rediculous amount. i changed to a standard because of advantages like it is versatile for some loads. ...
Improved tyre life. ...
Better resale.
