Is it a good rust preventive does it smell
It stinks and everything sticks to it. It has great 'creep' ability to get into crevices for protection. You may end up with a dirty looking chassis using it. I think there are some alternatives mentioned in the Cape jaffa thread?
Ive used it and yes it's sticky and leaves almost a waxy film. Just use WD40 now spray it everywhere like buggary and prefer it, doesn't last as long tho so will require more treatments.

Used lanox for my last Fraser trip but anything like that would do the job. Probably don't need to get stinky with straight fish oil. It's as if not more important to make sure you give it a good clean before and after if you're just looking at a short/single trip.
Because I live near the southern ocean, I use fish oil on all external fasteners, especially on the chassis. I also drizzled some under the windscreen rubber and along the roof gutters. (Because my Patrol sits under cover for days on end, I let the oil sit in the gutter and wipe of the excess and let it dry). I used some German made black chassis paint. Very thick stuff that has worked well. After any sand driving I spend ages washing out the chassis with rain water. I still haven't decided which product for the inside of the chassis.

It's a great rust preventative. The spray cans don't smell anywhere near as much as the bottled stuff....

For real? My late father used to drink tablets of that for his heart ailment.
Buy a few tins of Lanolin in the spray can, sprays wet and hardens over time
great for heaps of jobs battery terminals for one. great to spray on all electrical
connections cant talk highly enough of it, get it at CBC bearing centres
04 ST 3lt auto, not enough Mods to keep me happy, but getting there
