Just rip the whole idle up assembly off you don't need it. TD42 has enough idling grunt for AC compressor to be spun.
I ripped my entire system out. Less hoses and wires, etc...
I was told exactly that same thing when I fitted the 12mm pump but I find it struggles a bit now sitting at lights and what not on these hot summer days. So much so I'm going to the extra effort to refit the bits I took off. Each to their own

For what it's worth. My AC is same regardless of rpm and ambient temps.
If yours struggles a tad without higher revs it may need other attention, possibly regas ?

It may need a re-gas. But it was fine before I tore all the aircon bits off and it's fine as soon as we're moving and there's a few extra rev's and air flow.
So I'll put the bits back on and save the re-gas for another couple of years haha.
