Motors in it’s fnal resting place now, got the engine a little further from the tilt it was on by moving engine mounts around. There’s 6 bolt holes in the Racebred4wd engine mount so had a few choices and a bit of trial and error.
Got my clutch and gearbox in and started fitting my exhaust, it’s getting closer now!!

Swapped wiring loom so today to the GQ TD loom, it’s a dash out job!
Wasn’t overly difficult just time consuming, marking, taking photos so it all went back together easy.
Got the dash back in, have some wiring repairs to do and some stuff to add into the loom then I can put the rest of it back together. So close to turning the key now

It’s alive, along way off actually being driven but it runs
Still need to finish the wiring, swap a few sensors around, fit radiator and hoses, new airbox, cooler and piping and a tune, but it runs!!

Moved under its own power today for the first time, I’m waiting on some bits and pieces to be able to drive it properly but it drives!
So celebrated by putting the bonnet on lol
I got my tacho working today, had to make a spacer for a GQ TD42 tacho sensor as they are different heights to the TD42ti sensor.
It’s the little things

Picked up the car from the auto electrician on Friday, fitted a catch can, checked all the levels and then drove it home!!
Did 200km over the weekend, really happy with it at the moment, could do with more power though!
I’ll put 1,000kms on it, change the oil and filters again and then get it off to be tuned

Done 300kms now, filled up with fuel as I thought my gauge wasn’t working. With the long range tank in the fuel gauge starts working as normal once I’ve used about 60 litres, put 47 litres in
That means I have fuel economy of around 15 litres per 100km, this conversion will end up paying for itself!!
A far cry from the 40lt/100 the carby got lol
I’ll be booking in for a tune soon, any recommendations on a tuner South east Melbourne? I was going to take it to JPC in Thomastown as they helped me over the phone to set up a Hobbs switch to trick the TI pump but I’ll have to get it towed there due to my work hours (tow truck there and back will cost more than the tune)

Wife and kids got me some new seat covers for Father’s Day, Patrolapart and MSA are awesome to deal with.
Originally, my wife bought the tradie gear set from Patrolapart but they were packaged incorrectly and were not for a GQ. My wife went to Patrolapart and they contacted MSA who sent us a set of their premium covers, fitted them up today. The quality is amazing and they fit unreal.
