Have I busted a CV? Help please!
G'day fellas,
The other night while driving I was approaching a corner a bit harder than I should have and I made the turn a bit faster than I should have while pressing the brakes reasonably hard and heard a clunking sound, not sure if it was the tyres skipping on the ground or the sound of my CV busting up. Didn't have any issues afterwards though. I was then driving a few days later on a downhill and the lights started going red and went to break and heard a strange sound again. Is there any easy way to figure out if I've busted a CV? I haven't engaged 4wd at all either since, Haven't needed to. I also haven't noticed any difference in drive quality or haven't heard any strange sounds.
Don't worry, I know I should be more careful while driving too haha I sometimes forget I'm not in my sedan.
Car is a 2011 GU ZD30 CRD.
Cheers.

Patrol God
It's most likely your ABS doing its job.

The master farter
you wont break a CV on the blacktop in 2wd bud.Its either the ABS as Hodge mentioned or just the suspension bushes moving under the hard breaking. I had a similar noise in mine a while ago. Ended up being the front body mounts were lose. But mine is a 2001 vintage so its expected...
