Ebay is still a good avenue
Soooo...
Ebay is still a good place to sell stuff because of the bidding.
I'm selling a Hayman Reece weight distribution set and have tried all the popular FB pages and Gumtree at a reasonable price but no joy, just low ballers.
Threw it on Ebay and it looks like it will sell for far more than I hoped even with the fees taken off end price.
It's interesting though with the bidding format getting people sucked in like gambling perhaps, not sure but Ebay was the win for me so don't discount that if you are trying to sell anything.
I wonder if Stalkbook had a bidding algorithm set could be a huge winner for them!

I found the same when we sold our bus. Not even an auction, just a prepaid 28 day classified ad. Better 'quality' buyers & more of them.

Agree advertise in relevant forum for target audience. Gumtree, although free (and probably why), has seriously low-brow audience generally. Exceptions to the rule in all cases though.
What is the charge? Eating a meal? A succulent Chinese meal??

The master farter
Just be careful selling second hand stuff on evilbay. Unless its cash on pickup. I hope you have heaps of pics and show any defects there may be, even a tiny scratch. Just look on the eBay forum to see all the disaster sales where buyers claim items aren't what they are bla bla bla and the seller just has to wear it.
I go through it maybe twice a month of people trying to blind side me with similar shit on my store. Hence me shutting it all done, including the Dawes and needle valve kits.
eBay is a great place to sell stuff, just be prepared for the worst and hope for the best I say.

Mrs MB tried her best hand at a home equine fleabay business years back. I believe the e- ‘business fleas’ outweighed the under $10 items for sale and inturn collapsed the $20+ rugs etc...FWIW

SUCH IS LIFE
Ebay is still a good avenue
Had my Patrol on ebay and gumtree, no hits from eBay and shitloads from gumtree, I know where I’ll be advertising again when needed.
On another note, ordered a rhino pioneer roof system on eBay this Tuesday and the fuker hasn’t even sent it yet! Ad said he had 5 left at the time.
Tried contacting the seller who has nearly 50000 sales and no reply, I would expect a message or something when you fork out $1100
