I'm thinking of two ways of mounting the unit:
1. Replace the circuit board inside the clock, this will have a more of a factory look, however the screen would be smaller. Could be difficult for some people.
2. Replace the whole clock with a unit. Easier to install. Bigger screen. May not look as good, but i'll try

Would be good if it looked like your picture in the first post. Easier for people to install too. I reckon you'd be on a huge winner there.
Nothing in our cars look factory anymore anyway with the amount of crap we add, haha.

Cool, I'll make it replace the factory clock so it's easy to install.
Features are:
- Volt meter
- Inclinometer (how steep is this hill)
- Altitude meter (how high is this hill)
- Compass
- 2nd battery meter
- Internal & external temperature
- Clock & date
- Simple trip computer
- USB Upgrade
Also I'l make it expandable just in case I forget something.
For price I'm estimating around the $160 mark. This will be a 100% Aussie made unit. I'm a true believer of Aussie manufacturing
As for the GU model I'm thinking of added OBD reading and Nissan consult port for the order GUs (older ZD30, 4.5 and 4.8 Petrol)

Been working on the design, trying to get hold of the original clock and centre dash surround. Most wreckers want mega bucks for them.

Don't want to spoil anything, but have you seen LINX by ARB?

Have you tried patrolapart they're usually fairly reasonable with stuff.

Do you need the surround or just the hole size and mock up a dummy surround ?

Ah, ok.
Don't know much about this stuff. Looked similar to me, but can put that down to not currently owning a patrol
