Few years back I ended up adding too much grease to those bearings and grease was oozing out of the scrapers.
On top of that I did the stupid thing of applying a thin layers of sealant to the bearing cap shims as well.
One of my axle seals are leaking slowly now and need to be done soon.
A messy but quite DIY'able job as I've been told by MudrunnerTD by his threads.

Drop the lowest one of the bottom swivel bearing bolts and poke a bit of stiff plastic in there. If there is diff oil it should dribble out.
My advice is: not to follow my advice.
