Coils. What Series Patrol Do I Have???
I got some Dobinson coils in the rear of the Trol. They're way too firm when unloaded so I'm getting some softer ones.
The Dobinson catalog gives different load ratings for the same coils for different series Patrols. As an example Coil A in a Series 1-4 has a rating of 250 - 350 KG, but in a series 5 it has a rating of 150 - 250KGs.
My Patrol is a 2013 3 litre ST wagon. What series is that???

Patrol God
It's a series 4 shape mate. They're all the same except later ones got factory lockers at rear in terms of suspension and chassis.

Yours would be a series 8 or something. As Eric says not much changed from 4 to 8. I would assume the later read on those specs.

The only good thing about an 80 series is..... the front end?? Wrong!!, the Engine?? Wrong!! the Full Time 4WD system?? Wrong!! Its the NissanPatrol.com.au stubby holder fitted over the transfer lever.

I've done 180,000kms on my current Old Man Emu springs under the GUIV and am very very happy with them.

Smart like tractor
I have superior mediums in the front and a dobinson medium in rear.
It took me a while to get the combo right, but I'm happy with the ride when empty, I can carry a bit of extra load and I don't dislocate the springs when flexing

Thanks guys.
I think I'll go from the 250 - 350 constant load to the 50 - 100 constant load. I use the thing everyday and it's usually pretty unloaded, it's just too darn hard with the 250 - 350s. Just hope the 50-100s won't be too soft. But I reckon there's only 1 way to find out.
