eBay intercoolers
Bit of a general question re Chinese special EBay intercoolers.
Looks like my front mount IC has finally carked it and I'm not welding it back up again.
I haven't measured anything properly yet but maybe the usual 600x300 size with 3" or 2.5" inlet outlets.
Just checking what eBay sellers or eBay intercoolers members have bought and their thoughts on quality, etc.
Don't want cheap and nasty just a good medium range...
Looking at spending $200-400 ish then just get a universal pipe kit.
Has anyone used those Aeroflows?

I bought this one a few years back. It's 450 x 300 x 76 with 2.5" in/out. Bar & plate.
Paid $159 for it with postage. Done about 10k kms and no issues.
IMO, it appears to be well made. The welds look pretty good.
The end tanks are cast and are pretty thick so they soak a lot of heat.

Aeroflow are fine. From a little more extensive testing we have been doing with the borg warner you could go to a 63mm (2.5") wide core. Even slightly smaller say 500x200. Anything around the $150-200 mark will be more than good enough quality wise. Then just run 2.5" hot side plumbing and 3" cold side plumbing.

Thanks matty, yeah this custom wrx intercooler is ridiculously thick so a 2.5" wide core would be a lot easier.

I'm pleased to see it's confirmed that you don't really need to spend $2k+ on an intercooler..

Yes you can. It requires a little more effort but still not a lot and the outcomes is as good or better. The cooler setup old mav uses on the setup I mentioned set him back about $300

The only good thing about an 80 series is..... the front end?? Wrong!!, the Engine?? Wrong!! the Full Time 4WD system?? Wrong!! Its the NissanPatrol.com.au stubby holder fitted over the transfer lever.

Please note you will need to machine 2x extra ports as it will not line up with the standard pattern.
