I went for a high mount setup on my GQ partly because it was easier to work on, however if you want a top mount intercooler you might have issues running a high mount

Engine bay temps would be lower using a low mount setup. Further from the aux battery too if you have one. Easier intake plumbing maybe with a high mount though.

Another good point.
I guess the turbo itself would run cooler with low mount too

I think i read somewhere too about the flow dynamics. It was better with the low mount. But I'm not sure if it was about this or not. I run a low mount. If I was given the coice, low mount still. To me it just seems a better position and out of the way too... Doesn't look as good though...

Hmmm.flow dynamics...I'll look into that a bit more.
I'm not worried how it looks just what goes better.
Cheers for the info

@nissannewby is probably the most qualified to talk about this

Not sure about that
A well designed high mount can be just as good as a low mount. Low mount I would be using a dts item. They are nice heavy cast and are very open and direct compared to a standard manifold.
For high mount I would be using the latest item from radius fab recent testing by a well known shop has shown some nice gains over the standard nissan manifold.
I dont see to much difference in where the heat and everything is. Piping is very similar unless you do run a top mount cooler then a high mount might cause some dramas. Depending on turbo sometimes wastegate actuator placement can be fiddly on a high mount setup.
