I found another GQ which seems very stock, 95 model, very neat and clean, body immaculate, inside immaculate, 283k, side steps, brush bars, passenger bench seat with 3 seat belts, nice clean tray, etc.
It does have a Safari turbo which was put on 15 years ago with no IC, no boost or EGT gauge.
Would anyone be weary of this meaning the driver would have no idea or knowledge of what engine temps it was running throughout it's life?
It's lasted 15 years with that turbo on it so I wouldn't think it's doing much damage if any.
My old GQ wagon was non-intercooled and I had no issues with it. The big thing I guess is if it wasn't overly tuned it should still be ok, assuming whoever tuned it in the first place knew what they were doing. @nissannewby may have a better idea.
It will be fine. They were very conservative qith those setups.
I think the same when people say am I going to put gauges on our 99 factory turbo non intercooled gu. Well it's stock and has lasted 300,000 km so why bother!

Yep can you see I'm still paranoid?
I still clench the steering wheel with a shaky relapse moment when I need to put the foot down or driving up a big hill in this engine.
