Home grown fruit and veg.
G`day all. Not sure if the subject belongs here, but I guess it`s part of food and cooking of the end product. I bought an unlabeled punnet of el cheapo squash / pumpkin a few years back and had this little number turn up. I thought it was hilarious, as I thought it was a butternut pumpkin to begin with.

Here`s another home grown veg. The sweet potato weighed in at just under 5 kilos, it was one spud and joined at the skinny part on the left. Any one else out there grow their own veg?

Legendary
No pics unfortunately.
Used to have a patch. Best thing was to go out pick whatever was growing and that was veggie soup.
Also did pickled beets a few times from scratch, man they were the best, 5 jars and they wouldn't last more that a couple weeks.

I think if I had some thing like that growing, the veg punnets wouldn`t make it to be planted.
I`m not one for taking photos of veg, but I grew a couple el cheapo beetroot punnets, amonst others too and the gf ended up boiling them up, pickling them and jarring them up. A few years back when I grew a heap of beetroot, she was hesitant in trying them and now she takes over in doing the prep work for them. I think she enjoys doing it more than I and wonders what the hell am I going to do now just to surprise her.

The master farter
I wish i had a yard that got sun to grow my own veggies. We spend so much money on buying these when its easy to grow your own. But we dont get any sunshine at all in our backyard between late March and late October so we dont bother.
Hopefully in the next place.

But then there is the time.
I have the room at this place and the sun. but not the time to commit, the next place doesn't have the room, but will do it on a smaller scale. Planter boxes....
