Daily driver, camping, 4x4ing but not hard core, towing a small tinnie (13 footer), im not to fussed with fuel consumption, but more conerned with repair cost that may come with some diesels.
I have found a 80 series that meets my needs, manual, 4.5ltr petrol, straightest/cleanest/stock thing i have seen, 167000 ks

There's your answer mate.
Being stock do you wanna set it up to suit your needs or buy something ready to go.
Plenty out there find what suits. You can generally tell if something is OK or not.
Good luck..

You could get a 4.8 for less than $14k. I personally wouldn't touch a 2.8 but I wouldn't touch an 80 series either because of the age..
