Hi mate first up what motor ,,year,,etc are you running lol
also what do you hope to achieve, what mods have you done so far??
exhaust etc??
04 ST 3lt auto, not enough Mods to keep me happy, but getting there
Srry, 2010 ST. manual. Has 3 inch exhaust upgrade, snorkel. Going on a trip towing a camper trailer.
First up I would fit a Boost and EGT gauge in a pillar pod or similar.
That way any mods done you'll be able to see whats happening.
Then fit a Dawes and a needle valve to control your boost. Then block the EGR.
and fit a catch can. Go buy a SCAN-gauge as well. You may find performance is adequate
once all this is done.
Is your Intercooler oily??? if yes then its leaking dont worry they all do.
Best to get a fully tigged and tested 60psi from say Diesel Smart.
Use the link to fit your boost gauge much neater IMO

Welcome Hawk..
The crd has some advantage over the Di engines..
But it's very tuner dependant as what they'll do..
But good tuners will remap and close the egr that way..
But im with TD on gauges..
Get atleast boost and egt's in..
I also went oil pressure but that's the farmer in me wanting to know what's going on..
Upgrade intercooler does help and is best done before the tune.. that way it's tuned to suit better cooling. .
Scangauge is a good bit of kit.. allows you to clear codes etc but also see what's happening with a few read outs threw the ecu..
It's best to fit a tillix or dawes valve and needle valve and that'll give better tunability on the dyno.
Boost pressure can be tweaked with fuel loades...
Again, find a good tuner who knows what they are doing with Deisels.
Cheers

Agree with the previous comments on doing the mods before tuning. I would be inclined to use as chip that is then set up by a good tuner on a dyno, rather than modding the factory setup itself. Just my two cents worth of course. With gauges I would reccomend using red backlit that you can adjust rather than blue backlit, just makes night driving more comfortable.
