Yeah i was looking at the RV tents. So me and the family could just do overnighters easily enough. But then i thought we will need to haul mattresses x 4 and bedding and this would pretty much take up all room on and in the car.
So i think i will just get another double swag. Two swags with bedding rolled up on the roof will be easier i reckon.

Well think of it this way. OZtent on roof rack. (Can't notice it) And then all the sleeping bags and matressed would take up as much room or less as all your swags ??? But oztent would be far cozier and simpler. IMO.
I used to Swag it all the time and then.... I got the Oztent. Swag's been garaged ever since. Takes me 1/10th of time to set up compared to the swag. I just like it, as you can stand up get dressed out of the weather. And then theres the myriad of options for it to suit... Tagalong tent etc...
I used to just matress it on the floor and sleep like that but thought it'd get a stretcher to sleep off the ground this time.
Love my Oztent!!

Swags on the roof with all the sleeping gear in them is less room than the RV and then having to pack sleeping gear aswell.
Two swags on the roof rack is quick. Trying to keep what i take to a minimum.
I just like the idea of those tents. Lol.

Have you seen the size of the bag the oztent packs into? Far smaller than my single dome ARB swag! Albeit a bit longer and heavier. (around18kg all up).
Anytime you wanna try it out just come and grab it, more then welcome to borrow it and test it out for a weekend or something.

SUCH IS LIFE
I used the rv5 at Andy's with 4 people. We had the tent, 4x mattresses and 4x sleeping bags and had an awning extended n front of the tent.
Personally if I go by myself I'd go a swag anyday. but with the family the RV was about 5minutes total setup...winner imo
Room wise I reckon would be th same as 4 swags or 2 singles and a double.
We're doing Fraser in 4 weeks and RV it is

Yeah i have....
Remember i also need to drag four mattresses and all sleeping gear too. It all adds up.The swag i just roll up and everything is in the swag.
We took two double swags with us when we went to Moreton island last year. it worked out well.
