    GQ td42 10mm upgrade

Hi all I'm upgrading my 94 GQ TD42 with the addition of a turbo, my pump is the standard 10mm, I have the opportunity of a 2005 GU TD42 11mm with boost compensator will this fit my motor and is this a good upgrade as my budget won't allow for a 12mm just yet. Trying to get close to 20psi spooling from 1400rpm for towing.
    Thx

From the research I've just done, 11mm should certainly be large enough for towing.
The boys here pointed me in that direction
modified 11mm tuned for 20 to 22psi ,+ matched turbo upgrade will get ya 50% jump in torque = say around 580nm.
I am also looking at towing but still streetable if ya follow.
Oh and you will want a new clutch for that sorta gain in power.

12 mm may be over kill.

It would be worth getting the pump rebuilt by an expert like Shawn at,
@ Diesel Central near you in Qld, before you fit it.

Shawn recons, upgrades, pumps for work shops all over AU.

As for the auto, I'd be looking at say a nomad kit and improved cooler for a start.
Suggest you research in case that sort of pressure gets to much for the std auto box.
    cheers

Thats a Ti pump that came on the factory intercooled engines. The module on the bottom is a timing control solenoid. You can get it converted to full mechanical which will be the easiest option other than selling it again.

It needs a ecu or some sort of controller to make it work correctly.

And the ti pump cost ya how much?
Sometimes ya need to look past the hard yards and $$, to think what the end result will be.
ya gotta part with $$$$$$ to get more ponies.

done up pump will set ya back kk.

Humm my GU TD42t has no computer
so going by our mate nissannewby advise,
that could be an option for you it's possible to not need an computer only the correct pump.

Oh well at last something sorted Im keeping my pump body but with all the 11mm plunger and Boost compensator etc added to it, all done for $800, I thought that was pretty good. I now have all the loom out of the donor car, auto from a Safari Turbo. So once my boat has sold we are ready to start this conversion, cant wait.
