I have changed the edge on the Dexter to around 15 degrees so need to hit the steel fairly often but boy is it sharp...lol
The edge on the damascus is very good and holds it pretty well but I think its around the 20 degree plus mark so will need to change that as well but so far so good. Haven't had it that long at all. So far pretty happy but time will tell. and it's definetly not a hand forged blad or anything...lol

This one is 15cm overall and fits in the wrist to get behind the gut membrane to cut all the tissue holding it onto the body. Twisted domascus with stag antler handle and leather pouch

Did you get them from your favourite bow shop in Fyshwick?

haha, that wanker won't get a cent of mine. There's another fishing/hunting/archery shop now so everyone has gone there and old Rory will hopefully have to shut shop soon

Damascus goes in "layers" the more layers the better the pattern.
Its not true damascus like in Medieval days as they have lost that
"recipe". They can make some incredible patterns.
I buy blank Damascus and fashion my own knives, Pic is of my
Streaky buffalo horn and brass handled skinner 520 layers of Alabama
Damascus, other is my sheep horn Seki City knife. Seki City, San mai and
cold steel are what you seek in great blades. Bad Damascus will delaminate.
@ NH I'd sharpen that Dexter flat as in one edge from the shoulder to the cutting edge,
I have my Mundial butchers knife sharpened that way and boy can that cut, and hold its edge ok
I have two round steels but would like an oval one 400mm long

Hooley Dooley that's a big difference, is that spike the same as the one you sent me?
Looking forward to the day I can physically be able to get all my tools out and finish off my Bowie blank I have here and put on the Kimberly beefwood scales. Not sure what pins I am going to use yet, more than likely brass to match the bolster

Cheers, not sure if I am going to put a lanyard hole in it yet, may even get some Schrade scale torx screws that I found on FleaBay.
    Haven't bought any yet though
