Are TB42E and TB45E fuel regs interchangeable?

Im trying to narrow down a few starting issues and fuel pressure regulator has come up in discussions. At over $200 its a high price to pay when my mate has a second TB42E engine in his shed with a nice looking reg. Are they interchangeable at least for a leak test?

Is there much involved with fitting that jff45?

I just bought and fitted a new regulator off eBay for $80. Despite the old regulator still showing I had 40 psi, the new one changed the engines performance quite a bit. Fixed the hesitation at start up as well.

Not really, I just welded a small length of flat bar to the original mounting plate so I could fix it under the earth strap connection. I left the original reg in place.
