LPG System Removed to Space for Duel Battery and Long Range Tank
This project has been keeping me out of trouble for a while now.
Easy part is done stripped the LPG tank, converter, lines, wiring harnesses and computer anything to do with gas is all gone.
Redirected vacuum and breather hoses to make way for the new piranha battery tray which fit like a glove.
Next to fit battery and wire it up going with Optima yellow top and Red arc isolator.
Also need to do something with those breathers?? any suggestions?

Replacement tanks for the rear are 150ltr I think
or put a std 95 back in and fit a 75 ltr AUX tank
Thats plenty for a diesel and a petrol IMO

IMG_1057.JPGIMG_1053.JPGIMG_1052.JPGThe removal of main components is easy enough ,keep safety in mind use up as much gas as possible close main valve and disconnect battery before opening gas lines and removing possible live wires.
Tank is heavy i used a trolly jack and a second set of hands to lower it out from under car.
Trickiest part was tracing wiring back from switches and tuning module and re joining factory wires back to normal.(helps to have a mate with mad soldering skills)
Be sure to store tank away from potential ignition sources there will still be some gas in tank, I had a local recycler come and collect it free of charge good deal as it goes out of date this year and has fair amount of surface rust.

good sensible mod btw, keeps the weight down low , and not on roof racks like some.
Even a petrol might get across the Simmo with a jerry as a back up.
Be interested in your range now, must be 1200-1500 k what do you think?
Remember weight is your enemy when building up a tourer, especially up high

1200 km I think at best less fully loaded with camper in tow tb45 not famous for good fuel economy. Getting about as heavy as I would want. Heading on a trip up north that will put it to the test.
