DM Flywheel and clutch replacement km's and if fixed under warranty or not
Hi All,
It would seem that the dual mass (DM) flywheel is a bit of a contentious issue with Nissan and I am just running a survey to see how many people have had warranties approved. So even if they pay for just parts or just labor, that's a warranty.
I will list all of my woe's in another thread elsewhere, but just interested as reading other forums and threads it would seem to be hit and miss with regards to Nissan replacing the DM Flywheel and clutch under warranty.
Their reason is: "It is not a manufacturing fault that the DM Flywheel fails, they fail because they overheat" "The clutch is a consumable and will not be replaced"
Also to note that Nissan Australia said in court last week that they have never had a warranty claim for a DM Flywheel or clutch (This was a pre-trial conference so not under oath).

I can't respond to your poll but we all know the DMF's are junk. Just put a Solid flywheel in it and a 4Terrain or Tuff Clutch in it and be done with it. And we also know that Nissan are liars.

The reason I seeking the clutch under warranty is because the DM Flywheel separated and failed causing it to prematurely destroy the clutch.

Yeah well by rights the clutch should be covered I reckon. Maybe contact the ombudsman or whoever it is ask get some advise first. Then throw it in Nissans gob.

Ahh just read the other first post of your thread. Lessen learned. By a Patrol thats out of warranty and you wont have these issues. Lol. Not helpful I know, just trying to make a funny from it. Might be easier just to take the hand you are dealt with and move on. Sucks I know but Nissan have more money and power than you and they will drag it out as long as they want.
Good luck with it though mate.
