Well my attendance is looking a bit shaky, really been looking forwards to this meetup and catching up with a few. I'll make every effort to attend the Saturday afternoon and may even bring two grand-kids along. I've been keeping positive for the last four weeks so not going to change now.
I've posted the following in the 'Angry' thread.
Four weeks ago I woke in excruciating pain, enough to have me rolling on the cold bathroom floor. Quick trip to hospital and a couple of morphine doses found me comfortable enough to have a CT scan which confirmed I had a 7mm kidney stone stuck just outside my left kidney. Because of the location I went on a course of medication for two weeks to try to get it to move into a safer position for removal. The medication was made up of some potent pain killers and something to relax and expand my ureter. Other than make me nauseous and light headed for about six hours each day it didn't help move the stone.
Last week I had another CT scan, Xrays and another barrage of tests and the stone hasn't moved at all. Now I'm booked in for surgery this Wednesday and still on the medication.
Still not sure what option they will use, I'll find out after the CT scan on the morning. Looks like whatever option they use I'll have a stent installed for a fortnight and the removal of that is going to be a whole different experience.
In life I've been pretty much bomb proof, only real surgery I've had was the removal of my appendix (removed at 7:30pm and went home next day at noon). Been looking forwards to the meetup on Saturday and I'm staying positive that I'll be out of hospital and able to attend on the Saturday afternoon.
Cheers
Jack
