Brunswick in a 99 Patrol

Well everything just came to a screaming holt. I was just informed by the Brunswick people that you cannot put an engine in a car that is older than the car.
It wont pass licensing.
Very sad

I must be missing something here?

You want to put a 6.5 chevy out of an '04 Ute in a '99 wagon yeah?
If it was OK in the '04 how can it not be OK in the '99

AFAIK you can put the 6.5's (turbo or non-turbo) in any Patrol up to early '06.
There are 100's of them out there, all mod plated and legal (my Ute with a 6.5 chevy is a '99 as a point of interest)

It was a 94 ute into a 99 gu. The motor might have been built in 94 or 95 but it's illegal to put it in a 99 model vehicle. Which is BS because very little changed with these motors over those years

Im with et. It doesnt add up. The 6.5 was replaced by the duramax in 2001 but the 6.5 can be fitted in patrols built far later than that. GM still make the 6.5 for military H1 hummers but nissan also still make td42's and sell them in markets not regulated by emissions.

I rang licensing today and the lady spoke to the tech team with me on hold. She came back and said I should submit the modification form from there web site and the tech team told her they think I have been given the wrong info. She also gave me a link to all the engineers they have approved. I rang one of them and he said he thinks the information is incorrect and only for later model petrol cars. But he also said it would be wise to submit the modification form.

I can't honestly say mate maybe Brunswick just want to take more coin of the op. The thing I can think of is talking to an engineer that not associated with them and talk to them
