Heres the two cars.
$1,500 for the wagon and $4,000 for the brunswick ute.
Cheers Max.

Will I need to swap gearbox's or will the brunswick have the adaptor on it ? (Gear box is still in the wagon)
Cheers Max.
Hang on: I'll rephrase that.
Can I use the box that's in the wagon and pull out the engine with adaptor from the ute and slot it in?
Cheers Max.
I like seeing pics so I'll keep adding some of mine.
We pulled the wagon in and started taking out the gearbox, but now I'm not sure if we have to so we pulled the ute in and where taking the motor out.
So here where the actions taking place in my shed.
I got a fair bit done but ended up at the fridge end.

Well everything just came to a screaming holt. I was just informed by the Brunswick people that you cannot put an engine in a car that is older than the car.
It wont pass licensing.
Very sad![]()

bugger mate thats no good, time to find a good gq body???
2003 gu3 td42tdi sold 😞 bloody gvm towing crap. Bt50 3500kg gvm.
Anyone know what a 6.5 is worth, not sure of the year but it was installed by Brunswick in 2002 and the farmer I got it off reckons it would have less than 100k on it.
Edit: It comes with bell housing Marks adaptor for 4.2 GQ which also fits GU
Cheers Max.

Bugger!! What state is that?
What year is the engine? I though it only had the meet the ADR regs for pollution for the year of the car it was going in. That's why you can't fit a TD42 into a GU beyond 2006 as the engine would not pass the ADRs for after that (which is why Nissan stopped importing them)
Also there is plenty of guys fitting Silvertop TD42s into GUs. The Silvertop was only produced until 1994 I think?
