    Rebuild advice

Hey guys I have a 1993 model 4.2 gq patrol that I have done some modifications to such as a bigger fuel pump an axt turbo kit with a garret turbo 2 inch strings and 2 inch body lift with 33inch muddies on sunraysia rims and a 3inch straight through exhaust system with a new radiator.

I recently warped my head and with having 400,000km on the truck iv decided to do a. Rebuild at the same time Iof replacing the head 'm curious as to know where and what pistons are best suited to being turbod and having more fuel ect.

I don't want to go gu pistons as I want to keep my 28mm rods
What would you guys suggest? Cheers
Also what else should I think of doing at same time keeping in mind injectors and pump are sweet.

If you dont want to use GU pistons, you might aswell stick with the silver top pistons.
How much power are you chasing?

Only reason I don't wanna go gu pistons is because I don't wanna fork out for new rods as gu rods have 30mm grudge ones and my silver top has 28
Mate I wanna run bout 20-25 psi?

If yours is already a silver top then just rebuild with the same gear. If you have to replace the head the why not replace with a turbo head. Get it all balanced as well mate it's cheap enough and helps with longevity.

Ok so turbo head will be sweet to go on without changing anything else?
I need to replace my pistons according to the guy doing the work for me so will the pistons through SMS be just as strong as my old ones?

They should be mate. If your worried just source genuine but I believe sms use a lot of genuine parts anyway. Turbo head should bolt straight on.
