    31's or 33's for touring the country?

    hi guys i hv a 2.8 gq with stock suspension (and a 2' body lift no idea y previous owner did that) on maxxis bravo 700 tyres. im looking to tour the country no hardcore offroading just visit the scenic national parks in WA and NT and gibb river road do i need to upsize to 33's tyres? or is my current tyres enough for doing all that (like crossing the rivers on gibb river road)? i dont tow anything just camping gears and a few travelmates on board. sorry for noob question im completely new

    Is yours turbo?
    If so the 33's are a nice simple upgrade. The give that bit better diff clearance from rocks and ruts etc.
    And they will fit seeing you have the 2" lift..

    Imo though pull out the body lift and do a 2" suspension lift. Then you can get springs rated to your load. And a bit extra flex..

    33's add roughly 1-1.5L /100k to highway driving.

    I would keep the 31s, they will be fine.

    For what you need to do just keep the 31's... you will have better power and the tyres are so much cheaper..

    If you were going off track in the high country I would say 33's

    ive been thinking about that over and over too just struggling between doing it or keeping the coins to spend on the way.

    seeing you guys say 31s ok give me peace of mind thanks

    and my 2.8 hasnt any aftermarket turbo fitted btw

    Did a similar trip a few years back now on 31" BFG ats had no problems at all.
    Now I would do the same trip using a 285 x 16" tyre.
    04 ST 3lt auto, not enough Mods to keep me happy, but getting there

    For what you want there is no advantage going bigger & doing so will only increase your fuel consumption.
