Crazy spare parts prices don't just belong to Nissan. About eight months ago went to Toyata to chase up an original clutch fan for a 2H they wanted $830.00 for one. The sales person who gave me the price had a smug look on his face an some smart arse comments I just felt like reachin across the counter an give him a bit of a facial if you know what I mean.
Anyway went to a spare parts place that I frequent and told them my tale of woe. After doing some tickin an flickin on the compooter they told me they could get an original Jap one for $340.00 but would take a few weeks to get it from the land of the risin sun. Said no fluckin worries an promptly went back to Toyota an got the f--k wit who had served me an told him to stick his spare parts where the sun don't shine.
Gee I can be a bit of a crunt sometimes. Told the missus my story at the time and got a flick behind the ears for being a dick with a temper. Went to the man cave an sulked for a while thinkin if I had done the wrong thing. After a while thinkin things over I realised I had done the wrong thing should have slapped him.

How much would it cost to buy a patrol from the spare parts department? Surely someone has the time, morbid curiosity, and system access to answer the hypothetical question?

I would think it would be cheaper to buy a Bugatti Veyron

There are only 2 Nissan dealers in the whole country of Costa Rica, so I thought I was going to get ripped a new one when I took my new purchase into one for a complete inspection. The mechanic worked under it for 3 1/2 hours checking everything out and the service manager worked out an estimate (mostly just bushings, gaskets and a caliper pin). I waited for the bill for this inspection and it turned out to be no charge. Ehen I took the Patrol back for the repairs after the parts came in, the final bill was $300 under the estimate. Go figure.
