    CPOCSM's New Ride

    G'day all.

Finally decided on the GQ patrol I wanted after nearly six months of looking and inspecting. There is some real junk out there and surprised at some of the prices people want for aforementioned junk.

    Anyway...

1993 GQ TI TB42E dual fuel
    270000km
I will be the third owner
Not been on a beach or a track, used to tow a jet ski for the last five years
    Pretty much standard
    Leather interior
    Dual air con
    All the TI goodies.

    Some pics:

Wow very tidy mate... same year as my baby!!!

One thing I noticed is that it has the same set up with the blow by for the gas... I do recommend changing it..

I will find a pic of what I did before I removed the gas on my car but that set up made it so hard to get the best tune on gas and that blow by just seemed to let too much dirt and dust in.

But yes very very tidy mate and am jealous of that!!!!

Nice truck you have there! Even though I have owned 2 GU's now, I still prefer the GQ shape. Still miss my old one... Same colour as yours but badged as a Safari (NZ) and non turbo'd diesel.
2006 Ser IV GU, 6.5l TD V8 Chev with 4spd Auto, 3in Lift, 35in Kumho's, 12000lb winch, Nissan snorkel, Diff breathers, lightbar + Lightforce HD spots on roofrack. Built to go bush.

Thanks all and already have a plethora of parts I am acquiring ready to instal. Have a LH solid era window to rid myself of the rust prone sliding one. Overflow bottle needs replacing as does the airbox which has some ockey straps around it. Any advice on the replacement for the log manifold from the airbox to the mixer is appreciated. I had a similar setup on my previous patrol and ran faultlessly but I cleaned it at least once a month or after a long road trip.

This thing won't see extreme mountain climbing, more a get off the black stuff along nice simple tracks to access camping spots and some remote beaches in the Hervey Bay Area occasionally

Any help appreciated and thanks again

I was initially worried about the kilometres but I remembered my old one which had over 350000km on it. Never had the head off in anger my old one but was anal in changing fluids and checking stuff. Forgot to mention it comes with a full roof rack with rooftop tent and awning, a spare reconditioned head including intake manifold plus spare new tyres x 4 and a bucketload of other spares in a box. Already purchased left and right rear one piece windows...only needed the LH one...but in the hunt for the plastic inner guards on the rear bumper as these ones are cracked. First thing I am doing though is getting it serviced thoroughly then fully detailed. I am also planning on removing the hood lining around the edges and spraying copious amounts of fish oil along the gutter seams as my old one had some rust in it there. Preventative maintenance

Nice rig!! I sprayed fish oil into the insides of the gutters by removing the handles and sunvisors along the edges and using the screw holes as access for a spray wand. Worked great but the truck stunk for ages. Next time I do it I think I'll use penetrol instead. Dries quicker and seems more durable. I sprayed this stuff under the patrol almost a year ago and it still appears as it did when I first applied it. Great stuff!
