Black Cockatoo Bush Camp & 4WD Test Tracks
Location: 16kms north east of Naracoorte on Chapells Rd.
Has extensive Bush camping facilities: flushing toilets, hot showers, limited power, yabby dams, bush walks through acres of scrub, firewood, firepits, campsite shelters, 2wd & caravan access, and of course the 4wd test tracks.
The course can takes 2 to 4 hrs to get through the whole lot, it depends how capable your rig is or how hard you make it for yourself. It has plenty of moguls to test your flex, steep big mounds, steep biiiig holes, a couple of rock gardens, ditches resembling washouts, mud etc. Track times are between 10pm to 4.30pm no night driving.
Camping is $7.50 pp per night, the track is $30 per vehicle per day, $20 second day.
There are strict rules on general noise and generators after 10pm as the owners want all their guests to have a peaceful and enjoyable time. Disruptive bogans or rednecks aren't tolerated here.
The settings are quiet and tranquil but some challenges of the track action can be white knuckle so it's the best of both worlds.
You have to pre book but generally you will always be guaranteed a spot, there are acres and acres of camping spots.
Cheers, Dave

Has anyone else been to this park? My 4x4 club is planning a trip here in February.
My advice is: not to follow my advice.

The only good thing about an 80 series is..... the front end?? Wrong!!, the Engine?? Wrong!! the Full Time 4WD system?? Wrong!! Its the NissanPatrol.com.au stubby holder fitted over the transfer lever.
