depends also on what you are prepared to spend luke...wanted to go led but couldnt justify the price of intensity or great whites and who needs light for 1.5 klms ?...so bought a set of led ventas..about 700 mtrs of clear light .. $750.00..also have a 33" light bar ..one problem with all the bright light of the led light bars etc luke is that when you go back to low beam , its like you have candles in the front

I have a set of lightforce XGT that I converted to 100w HID's. Way to much. I'm in the bush, great light until you get into town. Blind yourself on the street signs. 55w next time

I had 55W and found them too bright too. I currently have 35w in my spotties and same in my H4's and they still get a lot of reflection. I'm pretty sure it's the colour.
My H4's are 4300k and they work well, my spots are 6000k and even at 35W they are a biatch on road signs with reflection. I'll be changing my spots to 4300k eventually.

I like 6000k as a colour temperature because the kangaroos/wallabies rather stand out. Buff are just as invisible.

thanks for all the advice. I ended up going with the IPF HID 900 spot and spread and am very happy with them. just about to sort out the adjustments to make sure they are pointing in the right spot. is there any tips for adjusting them in the driveway to get them close to where they have to be?

Best way is to find a quiet piece of road and do it in the dark. You can't really do it in the driveway (especially the spot) because 1cm on the wall can equal 10m down the road.
Make sure you take a couple of jumpers or blankets or something to cover up your headlights and the driving light your not adjusting so you can get it in the right spot.
Oh, and don't look into the lights.....or you will be seeing spots! LOL
