Welcome aboard mate.............
Gq jack (12th June 2013)
So I have finally made it back to finish my "Hey guys" post.
some of the issues since the reconditioned TD42 was reconditioned:
Injectors.... we were told would either be reconditioned or new, though while it was at a diesel-dyno-tuning specialist we were informed that our injector pressure was at around 60psi (TD42 turbo) and squirting the diesel out. Basicly screwed. The bloke asked if we had ever had our injectors serviced or replaced and we told him they are only about 6000k's old..... the guy laughed and said "There is no way in hell they are new or reconditioned".
This cost us around a grand, but we have gotten a statement of findings from them, as well as photo's of the injectors condition.
Next,
Rear Diff Ring and Pinion, ARB Air Locker.
Driving up to newcastle to pick up a few things and on the way up, the rear wheels jammed up causing the rear of the truck to jump of the ground about a foot in the air going 40k/h after which not very nice sounds were coming from the rear. Turned out that 4 bolts attaching the crown to the locker had fallen out!!! Fallen...Out....WTF. 3 bolts were recovered, one in the axle shaft near the wheel, two in the bottom of the diff housing and the fourth bolt was not reeeaalllyyy recovered unless you count alot of metal shavings, filthy metalic diff oil with chunks of metal and a magnetic drain plug covered with more metal a bolt. Crown and pinion were brand new and genuine nissan. Air locker was brand new too, only a couple thousand k's. Apparantly no sort of washer was used and no locktight on any of the bolts, they were just put straight in. The internal copper air line was cut or broken and resoldered back together. Part of diff housing was also damaged right on/beside the gasket seal. Recieved a few thousand dollar bill for this one...New Air Locker, New genuine crown and pinion and this time the blokes up at newcastle installed it the right way.
This one set us back a few thousand.
Next,
This one is current... 6th cylinder injector tube/line/pipe snapped clean off at the injector! while on the freeway! Turns out that the injector tube/line/pipes were all forced into the vibration clamps and tightened so they didnt pop out! Yet the clamp at the 5th cylinder was not even there. because they were forced into placed, 2 others had been rubbing and had almost worn down as well!!!!
Currently waiting on a brand new genuine complete set of lines and vibration clamps from nissan.
Will update again soon. Sim

So, new injectors arrived and installed with a td42 plazmaman billet alloy inlet manifold.
Comparing the "road" performance from standard td42 inlet manifold and standard zd30 top mount intercooler..., with no intercooler, just a crossover pipe; bloody amazing! Whereas I can now cruise up the local main road hill in fourth keeping a constant 60k/h and before I would get 3/4's the way up, changing into third gear and reaching the top at 53k/h.
Huuge improvement!! In about two weeks a plazmaman W2A inter cooler will be added with a nice dunk tune to match, tweaking the boost to a decent 17-18psi.
Will update then on the difference.
Adding a patroldocta zd30 airbox to the mixture and swapping to a full three inch, turbo back exhaust, in conjunction with the other goodies. Rather than purring along, a nice low growl will be associated to the visual eyegasm.

Welcome, by far the most captivating intro thread I have ever read. I don't know if I like your luck, but at eventually that truck will be bullet proof and ready for a trip to anywhere.
