Not a bad few days out!
Well done Alitis, great catch, would have been fun. Snapper are a great fighting fish especially in shallow water.
Never argue with an idiot, cos he'll bring you down to his level, then beat you with experience. Y2K

Cheers Mego, i generally fish in around 40ft (15m or there abouts) of water thers not much that can compare with the shimano 5500 baitrunner screaming with an over stimulated snapper on the end of it apart from when you get them within a meter or two away from the boat and they start to kick again, that gets the heart rate up again hahaha. Heres a pic i dug up from a few years ago when i was in Eden NSW of a couple of 3.5kg salmon i got off the surf at Green cape also known as Disaster bay in the Ben Boyd national parkThis is the beach i got those salmon from

So what's everyone's thoughts on kayaks?? We have a nice river and estuary down here so I've always thought about getting one.. For $600-$800 you can get a nice rig

For stealth it's the only way to go. A mate of mine uses his in Port Phillip Bay with rod holders, live bait tank, kill tank, GPS sounder, Minn Kota, the bloody works and he swears by it. Won't go fishing any other way now. We call him on our tinnies but also say he'll meet us there.
