Thanks for that mate, will have a better look at it 2nite when the rug rats have gone 2 bed, from reading the service manual there is only mean to be 10 flashes after the initial longer flash and depending on the time length of each flash will tell you where to start looking.
Very strange, can you confirm if your gearbox is the RE4R03A???
There should be a tag on there saying what the gearbox is, can't remember of the top of my head where mine was located

haha i know the feeling mate but u gotta love them lol
ok now i found out something, i just pulled the traces of wire out and checked them all, theres no damaged or bare wires, good!!!
power light is still coming on when O/D was selected with all the wires disconnected, not sure why i checked that but glad i did cause wouldnt this mean the fault is not in the box!!!
then i thought i might just swap the comps over (the original from car) nd there u have it the power light stay off while selecting O/D!!!!!
i put the other one back in nd the light come on!!!!
so in theory, would the ribbed auto have a different type of computer?????
seeing i tried a mates comp out of his car nd the light would come on to, (his isnt ribbed)
Btw ill check that tag tomorrow mate nd let u know as its gotten to dark, as of now im just going off what my mate has said about the box lol

Sorry mate, but I have no idea what you mean by "ribbed"
I also have a J6 torque converter in mine, and never changed my ECU or TCU they are still original.
If I have read correctly you say you put your original TCU back in and the light didn't come on, so why don't you leave the original TCU in there.......and why did you change it for in the first place.
Cheers
Todd
