It seems I am up for new intercooler hoses and Nissan want to charge me between $175 and 205 each for three hoses. Are there any aftermarket hoses I can get (will silicone hoses be ok?) or am I stuck with the OEM ones?

I replaced the rear hose on my intercooler, the one that blows off. had no trouble at all, pretty blue too
They are made to tollerate more PSI that a Z30 would push out, I've no problem with. IMO
Also up grade your clamps, I used gates constant pressure, 300% better than OE, All that means is
one less thing to worry about, gotta be a good thing.
04 ST 3lt auto, not enough Mods to keep me happy, but getting there
Just have ordered them from SuperCheap Auto - total cost with freight is roughly $80.
To save anyone else dramas - the part numbers are:
05-1885,
05-1886 and
05-1887
They are made by Gates. Just quote the part numbers and they will arrive within a few days.
Hope this helps others.
