has any one got a simple diagram to show a simple bloke how to make his rear light work from battery to switch to light............................

Here ya go mate.

Relay packets usually have their pin IDs on the back. If not...
30 = connect via fuse to 12v +
85 = earth
86 = switch
87 = power to light (+)

With any wiring remember to place fuse on positive lead close to battery terminal as possible.
