My changes to the RD28T of this side of the earth
Hi All,
Here are the different changes I add to my GQ SWB RD28T.
- Opening the bonnet (in France it is called: the Australian cover),
- By-pass of coolant on the heating circuit,
- Placement of two electric fans instead of the viscous coupling,
- Modification of the cam of the injection pump,
- Installation of a nozzle on the pipe leading to wastgate,
- Establishment of a Glasspack instead of the central silencer of the exhaust line.
I will add pictures soon.
Regards
Petit caillou.

What sort of mods are talking with the injector pump? Did you like the difference it made?

I did the same when mine was a 2.8 turned that cog under the spring two clicks clockwise and rotated the diaphram it dramatically improved the lower rpm power of the rd28.
It was pretty dead before 2000rpm and this give it power at about 1500 rpm.

Hi,
The adjustment of the cam allows a little more fuel delivery and earlier, I'm not sure you really win 500 but rather 200 rpm max. There are several important things, on the seal of the cam there is a reference (0), you must remember that location (this is the original one) by turning the cam you arrez varying fuel supply at the beginning acceleration, then you can tighten the nut notched five clicks (to start) always remember to remember what you change so you can return to the original if you wish. During this operation does not touch the accelerator pedal. If you adjust the screw notched excessively, you will have a big black smoke when you will speed, finesse and not having the big smoke (thick smoke means excessive adjustment).
best regards
Petit caillou.
