New to 4x4
Hi All,Im AL .
I am new to 4x4s and have been looking at a new Nissan Patrol ST, do i need special tyres, air locking difs and upgraded suspension or will a dealer thrown in pack of a snorkel and bull bar and the standard tyres be enough to get me over to Frasor Island camping with the kids or down Rainbow Beach as all the extras will put the car beyond my reach ?

G'day mate and welcome aboard - great people, information and laughs to be found on here, so join in to make the most of it!!!
Stock as a rock truck will eat up the beach in most circumstances mate - lower tyre pressure, momentum, etc are more important than any traction aids/mods.
Enjoy!!

thanks guy's for your quick and friendly response to my first question, (first time on a forum so didn't quite know what to expect) i'm happy to say you have just confirmed my choice of the Patrol ST. On the subject of some decent A/T tyres, can you recommend some that the dealer may look at and wont send him running at the cost as most of the time the wife will be driving round town but once a month we will definitely be on sand i hope!

Welcome to the forum mate.
If you don't get much response here then feel free to ask a new question under another category as a lot of people don't read the introductions.
Enjoy!
