I'm in the process of replacing the timing belt and as per the diagram in the manual it shows to use a puller to remove the crank pulley.
If anyone has done this job lately did you need the type of puller shown in the manual (a wide one that grabs the back of the pulley) or can you screw in bolts to the face of the pulley and set up a puller that way?.
I went to a few auto places today and all the pullers they had only stretched out to 150mm wide, this doesn't seem to be wide enough as the pulley looks to be at least 170-180mm wide.
Any ideas on a nifty way to lock the ring gear without removing the starter would be handy too.
So to put it another way, how do i remove the crank pulley?. I have seen plenty of threads that cover things like this in practical terms from start to finish but not the one I'm after.
