Hey snicko, this is such a great thread! Thanks for the great pics, they brought back some nice memories for me. I've been up that track twice and would do it again in an instant. Couldn't get sick of that place in a million years!

And I love your rooftop setup snicko. What brand is it? I'm still in the swag (although I do use a stretcher now!) and I reckon the rooftop would be a great step up in comfort and convenience without having to go all the way to a camper.

Thanks Plasnart, I would do it again in a heart beat too. I love the outback and did you know I love camping!!!!!!!! (I've said it a few times!!hahaha)

We went from a marriage tester tent........ to a "broncs" camper trailer....... to a new camper trailer........ to a roof top tent. =
No fun at all....................... to a daggy on road camper...............to a purpose built luxury (for us) heavy duty off road camper.......backwards to a roof top tent (but love it !)
We bought an ARB one that had a special going with awning and anex. Highly recommended.

Our plans are to do the CSR so Googs Track was a bit of a test.

Crikey you certainly would have a good understanding of the various options out there! I'll take your conversion back to a rooftop as a good vote of confidence!

Was there much traffic out there? I was out there in January and there was barely a soul. Probably not unusual considering the time of year! haha

We got there Friday Lunch time and while pulled over letting our tyres down a group of 6 vehicles went past. They pulled over about 3:30 as they had wet gear from the night before and wanted to dry things out. We went on to Googs lake and were the only ones there!!!!
Next morning on leaving the Lake we met two more vehicles coming into the camping area just looking around.
Never saw them again.
Pulled over to have lunch and a lone Toyota went buy.
Stayed at Mt Fink camping ground and the group of 6 were camped on the way in and the single Toyota camped on the other side of us.
We were all going the same way and met no one coming the other way. (thank goodness!)

The weather was perfect.............sigh..........now I want to go again..............
