French president Francois Hollande has confirmed the authenticity of an Algerian jihadist group video that appears to show them beheading Frenchman Herve Gourdel.
Mr Gourdel was kidnapped on Sunday in what the Jund al-Khilafa group said was a response to French action against Islamic State (IS) militants in Iraq.
A man identifying himself as Mr Gourdel, a 55-year-old tourist from Nice, appeared in a video released by the militant group on Monday in which they claimed responsibility for his kidnapping.
The video in which he is shown to be beheaded, released online, came after a 24-hour deadline for Paris to halt airstrikes in Iraq had passed.

R.I.P., Uncle K. Yet another victim of asbestos.
My advice is: not to follow my advice.

My Uncle's life was cut way too short. He had the genes within him to live well into his nineties as my grandfather did. He would have been exposed to the stuff when he served with the military overseas and then later as a mechanic. I hate the stuff and anybody that supplied it, even after they knew it was dangerous. In the early nineties, it was found that a lot of the gaskets we used on locos were asbestos. Management sourced different gaskets, but a couple of years later, we discovered that some new gaskets were asbestos. I have a mate who used to renovate kitchens and bathrooms. He is now struggling, just to breathe.

I used to service boilers in schools for a while , fixing leaks etc
little did I know all the pipes were covered in asbestos and plaster,
Even demolishing the old show grounds all the AC sheet we torn down.
OH&S was not even an idea then, sadly you did the job or got the sack.

Thank you 3D.
I now treat any substance that looks remotely like it could be asbestos as if it is.
I remember that on a building project in the eastern suburbs of Melbourne, that some imported sheeting was asbestos, and now cars and Locos have been found to have some components containing it.
Edit : I just found this story. http://www.abc.net.au/7.30/content/2013/s3899597.htm
