Hey people.
Does anybody know the specs of the gearbox crossmember bolts for a GU? Better yet do you know where I can get some? Nissan stated they are $35 trade each!

That is a silly price! Sorry can't help with a price or size. Take 1 out and take it in for sizing. Trust me your gear box won't fall out if you take one out![]()
Its a Nissan! =====> Its a Keeper!! ....... Got a TD42 in it BONUS!!....... I'm a lucky bugger! I've got 2 of em!
Check out my Toy --> MudRunnerTD's GQ From the Ground Up
The only good thing about an 80 series is..... the front end?? Wrong!!, the Engine?? Wrong!! the Full Time 4WD system?? Wrong!! Its the NissanPatrol.com.au stubby holder fitted over the transfer lever.
WARNING: Towballs used for recoveries can, and do kill people and damage property.
I'm pretty sure there m12 metric fine 40mm long

Yeah I have two out already. Lol.
Thanks mate now I can go on the hunt.
Oh and yes. GQ and GU are the same. It's just a for of habit so I am specific. Will go one better and state nissan wanted to know yeah and engine... Didn't think they made different bolts for different engines lol
My DA Maverick manual has ( in a chart ) bolt sizes and strengths associated with various size bolts.
have a look see in your manual see if ya can find similar.
Also bolt grade numbers (example, 8 ) is usually stamped on end of a hi tensile bolt.
Oh! and never substitute to a lower number.
take a bolt with you to make sure you get the correct pitch.
thats the amount of threads per mm
1, 1.25, 1.5 threads per mm etc
cheers

IF IT'S NOT A NISSAN.
THEN IT'S A COMPROMISE
120-140Nm according to the workshop manual.
The rear Uni joint nuts on the driveshaft are 94-108Nm in case you need this as well.
