Guard chopping is simply taking a few inches off the wheel arch so it can better accommodate larger wheels at full lock without them scrubbing on the guards.

Cant you make tube front guards with sheetmetal on top no sides.
That way a Landrover/FJ 40 tyle indicator assy will fit, do you get where I'm going???

Yeh I think that's what I'm in the process of doing. Going to use same size tube as winch bumper and folloow the shape of the "guard"
My guards are trimmed a bit already for clearance .
Argh too many jobs on my wishlist :/

Guess what - I smashed my indiator yesterday - nudge a tree - bull bar cracked the lens & the radio mounting point bent the courner of the bonnet
1991 GQ LWB 4.2 Carby dual fuel, 32 mud claws, 2 inch lift, LSD's front and back
And its Toooooooo High for the Ball & chain
