In the throws of replacing the LHS oil pressure switch next to the oil filter , got the wire disconnected unscrewed the switch but the assy with the cowl unscrewed and the cowl dropped off. Great .l need to know how that small cowl locates against the block and its orientation. If some one has an engine out could they take a photo of it so l can get this thing back on the road. What pain in the arse. Thanks in advance
Well a picture of the orientation of the heat sheild came from another gent who was going through the same saga as me but in April of this year. If you are going down the same path you will need a 1 inch deep socket short extension and ratchet and a mirror , Good lighting and a stool to stand on to get over on top of the guard. The electrical connection is a bit tricky but you can do it reaching in from behind the turbo. Now when you turn your socket .the whole assy will unscrew ,switch sheild and the special steel gasket which slips on either side of the banjo so dont lose it. This is also a good time to change the oil and filter as with the filter housing removed it gives you more room to get your hands in. The reason l am replacing the pressure switch is because of the oil light saga on these CRD mine being a 2008 model so l thought l will do the easy one first but nope no cigar the light came back on so its back to the RHS above the starter. l used a genuine switch from Nissan for this as it was $40 and l have an after market for the other as the Nissan one is around $180. l hope this may help others Cheers
