Question Loss of power in 3rd gear

    Hi,
    I have a 2001 GU ll 3.0ltr Diesel,manual.
I have just replaced the glow plugs and cleaned the MAF using MAF cleaner and now when driving either up hill or on flat road 3rd gear will not go past 2.5 rev just stays at same out put until I change into fourth gear. All other gears are fine. Any help/advise please.

Won't be anything to do with glow plugs but possibly the MAF sensor , was it like that before you cleaned the sensor?
And what did you clean it with ?

I also think it is the MAF Sensor itself ... they are fairly fragile, and don't like being disturbed too much.

There are certain voltages it should be outputting. See this thread for voltages http://www.nissanpatrol.com.au/forum...ng-MAF-sensors

If you have another I would swap it out to check
GU PATROL 2011 Ti, with goodies...

Somethings are just better off not being touched haha. So today so far no lack of power in 3rd gear go figure, I am still concerned as something has to be amiss somewhere. So might get a new MAF just in case, check all the hoses are not crimped or loose. I have to put a new Idler pulley joy joy.

Having a spare MAF sensor and belt tensioner is just part of owning one of these patrols but the go anywhere nature of them outweighs any negatives .

Hi I’ve got the same problem with my patrol. I was wondering what was the problem in the end?

@Morwong This thread was back in 2017 and Patrol girl was last on in 2018. Suggest u start a new thread, explain your eng fault symptoms, list any engine mods and the more info u provide will not be wasted.

BTW drop into the intro section and say G'day
