Oh so green.
As the title says we are more than newbies. Have never owned a 4wd but in the coming monhs we will be getting a GU to do an extended trip around Australia. Thereis going to be a lot to learn and we look forward to getting help here.

Hiya, welcome to the forum. You might be interested to have a look at my ‘Big Trip’ blog. Wife & I spent 18 months doing a figure 8 around Australia in an old bus I converted.

Be warned such travel gets into the blood. Since we returned home at the end of 2009 we’ve been working toward a full time travelling lifestyle & hope to be back on the road with our GU Patrol & Tvan sometime in 2016.

It would be great to join a club and get some experience but time may be a bit of an issue. Our 3 year old son has Cystic Fibrosis on the bad end of the scale so we want to show him as much as possible just in case something happens. We know he be around for a long time but we dont want to regret it.
Our first serious bit of 4wding will be hitting the telegraph track 6 months into the trip. We will be joining a group and larning as we go. We leave in 121 days
